poster/ORAL PResenters
Day of Event Plan
We recommend arriving to the symposium during primary registration (9-9:30am), however registration will remain open throughout the day should you need to arrive at a later time.
For poster presenters: the presenters number (P#), as noted in the Judge-Student Assignment document, will correspond with the easel number you will set-up your poster on and attend to throughout the day. Push pins and tape will be provided for presenters to establish their posters to easels.
For oral presenters: We recommend bringing a personal laptop with you to connect to your room's projector in the (unlikely) event that the room's computer experiences issues during your presentation. Presentation slides should be backed up in some way: USB, external hard drive, and/or google drive (or other cloud service). It would be helpful to arrive to your presentation room, as noted in the Judge-Student Assignment document, a few minutes early to familiarize yourself with the space and prepare.
Dress is Business Formal.
Lunch is complimentary and will divide the morning/evening sessions.
JUDGES
Important Documents
Day of Event Plan
Unless assigned to presentations in both the morning and afternoon session, you’re welcome to arrive to the Symposium and check-in before your assigned session.
All Judges must attend either the morning or afternoon Judging Orientation session prior to judging and submitting scoring forms for Presenters.
While Paper scoring rubrics will be provided for those that need them, to save paper (and for ease of score analysis) we recommend using the online forms linked in the Judge Expectations/Guidelines document.
Lunch is complimentary and will divide the morning/evening sessions.
VOLUNTEERS/OBSERVERS
Day of Event Plan
For Volunteers: We expect the volunteer role to involve giving directions, helping with set-up, attending research presentations, providing us with feedback, and being generally available for any issues that might arise. A brief set-up process will occur the hour prior to registration (8-9am). If you’re available at that time, the ISB would greatly appreciate your help in finalizing furnishings, signs, etc.
For Observers: We ask that all observers register through the this registration form, and check-in at the registration table prior to exploring the symposium. This is done primarily for data collection purposes, but it will also allow us to keep track of the venue capacity throughout CAURS.
